It’s apple season. Honeycrisp, Red Delicious, Granny Smith, Gala, Fuji, Braeburn, Empire, Winesap and more. 
Something to suit every preference: sweet to sour, soft to hard. I like mine crispy and crunchy. I’ll grab a few apples when I head out the door, tossing them into my purse or the car. Unlike summer peaches and plums, apples don’t become mushy and can be eaten without a mess.
It’s also Apple season. The company’s latest offerings, two less expensive iPhones, have been declared overnight sensations, with people camping out to buy one.
I recently saw the movie, Jobs, 
and immediately had to read the Walter Isaacson biography about Apple founder, Steve Jobs. The movie takes us up to the late 1990’s. The book, which includes extensive interviews with Jobs, his family, and many Apple employees, brings us to his death in 2011.
As an Apple devotee: I have a MacBook Pro, a MacBook Air for traveling, and the three “i” cousins, Pod, Pad (mini), and Phone, I was fascinated to learn how these products came to be and intrigued by Jobs’ life,1 his eccentric personality and obvious genius. He embodies the spirit of an inventor; committed to pairing technology with design, obsessed with bringing the world instruments that change lives and inspire creativity. It’s an American story; the “Think Different” ad campaign challenges us all to do better.
When I bought the iPhone, having to replace a dying Blackberry, I happily chose the “4,” as it was offered free from my local Verizon store. I may love the products but I’m not staying up all night to get one. And I know I’m not using any of my Apple products to capacity; there’s a lot to learn.

My niece picked a whole bunch of honeycrisp apples for me! They were so delicious. As far as computer/phone variety…I have an iphone, but I also have a macbook and a microsoft laptop. I’m kind of a hybrid tech user. While I totally ❤ my iphone, I have to say, I am duly unimpressed with the battery capacity. The battery in the Samsung 3 and 4 lasts much longer, thus making the phone more reliable. And yes, I routinely close down any apps I am not using.

At the end of the day, all these gadgets need to be recharged. Sure makes old fashioned phones and typewriters appealing! I hate that the Apple chargers are all different. I have to carry a sack with all the different chargers.

I’m a hybrid — iPhone, iPad and PC I work on — laptop and desktop models. I also have a Tablet — which I’d use completely if it weren’t for the fact my iBooks didn’t download properly! 🙂
And as to apples, I love crunchy and slightly sour too! You’ve just inspired me to make an apple crisp with the ones I’ve got. Thanks!

My favorite (including the Apple products) is the Honeycrisp, hands down. I’ll even pay the ridiculous premium they’re charging right now. ..

I became a Honeycrisp fan a couple years ago when I was introduced to them at a farmers’ market in Washington State. That first bite reminded me of a first sip of cold, crisp white wine after a long day. So lovely! Thanks for this fun article, Lisa.

I started my day wondering, where has Lisa been? You’re usually the first one on my posts, and I started to worry. Glad that you’re just busy apple picking, but you forgot our favorite… only found in CT it seems: the McGowan. My husband still pines for them! Just bought a bunch, and plan to make apple/blueberry crisp tonight. And of course, our whole family loves Apple… in any form. 😉

I try to just write, what I have to say… honestly, and not think about what works for others. The prompt for that one was very interesting, and I knew what I would do, right away.

oh, and the apples my mother gets in CT are the best we ever have. We get them from Wash.state in the supermarket and by the time they get here.. not so great. I’ll be over for your dessert and coffee.

I’ve used nothing but MacBooks (now a Pro) for all of my computing needs for at least 6 years, and I jumped on the iPhone bandwagon when the 4 came out (now a 4S). I really don’t have any other electronics at all, except for a printer/scanner, so these meet all of my entertainment and communication needs. If I ever have the surplus cash, I’ll probably also get an iPad. My computer had to go in to the shop for a week, and I was pretty lost without it! I generally eat Galas, when it comes to the edible variety of apple.

I’m an Apple fan all the way with a MacBook Pro, ipad and iPhone. I just love them. But I can’t help but think Steve would not be happy with those new multi-color options.

I started out with Mac, but when the internet became popular, I moved to PC because of problems with sending Hebrew from one type of computer to another. I have a smartphone, but still use it in the old fashioned way, much as I used to use a dial phone many years ago. I think I’m too old to keep up with all these inventions, but I appreciate them from afar, and appreciate the opportunity to see the world change so radically before my eyes.

Hubby’s blackberry hasn’t been working right for some time…and now that it might be kaput…he’ll have to, or his company will have to, figure out which way they go. My daughter’s thinking of getting the new IPhone. I’m quite content with my Samsun android. I’m never clamoring for the next, best thing. I’m usually just fine with whatever it is I have. My husband and daughter usually nudge me to upgrade…after 7, 8, or 9 years. Change! Oye vay! 😦
