Today our new grandson received his name. His older brother Uri may still call him “baby brudder” but we’ll call him Nakshone. Our son and daughter-in-law adapted the name from the Hebrew Nachshon, meaning a daring or dashing person, and according to legend, the first to plunge into the Red Sea when the Jews fled from Egypt. Yair in Hebrew means “he will light up or enlighten.”
Nakshone, born July 23 , waited 8 days to be named. Shortly after his bris this morning, the rabbi read the name, that links him to Jewish history and connects him with his soul.
Mazel tov! Such a nice and meaningful name!! Enjoy!!

Fabulous! Love the origin of names. My father, who was a Jew, chose my name from a verse in The Song of Solomon, his favorite book of the Bible. Enjoy those babies!
