Today my parents celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary.
For their 50th, we had a small family party and wrote some poems.
Here’s a brief excerpt:
April 4th 1954
Ike was president, our nation was at war
But this couple – while on a blind date
Had each found their ultimate mate
Leaving New York and Pharmacy behind
Mom de-beaked chickens with no never mind
Dad had visions of a business or two
Mom right beside him had her advice too
Mom and Dad tackled issues at home and beyond
Always together – eating lunch by the pond.
What a great post! I love those photos of your parents. They look as happy today as they did then.
